THE DETAILS
What is an Undergraduate Certificate?
The Undergraduate Certificate is a higher education qualification, formally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
The qualification was developed in response to community and industry need as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic with the intention to help reskill people in the most in-demand areas - which include programming and data.
Undergraduate certificates are accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).
The Undergraduate Certificate is a higher education qualification of six months duration covered by an existing higher education qualification at AQF levels 5, 6, or 7. Course content is to be drawn from an existing higher education qualification, to ensure students have the option to transition to the AQF level 5, 6, or 7 qualification on completion of the Undergraduate Certificate.
This means that students who successfully complete an Undergraduate Certificate with Coder Academy will be eligible to transition to a Bachelor of IT once they graduate. We offer two Bachelor of IT programs through our Academy of Information Technology (AIT) courses – the Bachelor of IT (Games Programming) and the Bachelor of IT (Mobile Applications Development). Students can also gain credit towards our Web Development Bootcamp (Diploma of IT).

Who teaches this course?
What technologies will I learn?
Within 6 months, you’ll learn how to code simple websites, applications and programs using Python - currently the most in-demand programming language on the planet! *
Python is an elegant, readable, practical language that can be used in almost every application thanks to its open-source licence and prolific community of contributors. It is a powerful high-level language that was made with the core philosophical goal that, “There should be one - and preferably only one - obvious way” of performing a given task. This, combined with its simple, English-like syntax makes it easy to learn and a joy to work with.
It’s also a multi-paradigm programming language that can be used to perform almost any task, and concepts and techniques are transferable to other popular languages like Ruby, JavaScript, C# or C++. The great thing about this is that you’ll graduate as an adaptable programmer and adaptability means more job opportunities!
Some examples of companies that have Python as part of their tech stack include Instagram, Spotify, Uber, Netflix, Pinterest, and Google.
Other tech taught includes HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
