Why A Diversity in Tech Scholarship?
At Coder Academy, we’re passionate about looking for ways we can encourage diversity in the tech sector. With so few women and minority groups choosing Computer Science subjects and degrees, there is a strong need for confidence building via mentorship, role models, and an educational opportunity that translates into real-world experience.
To combat the lack of diversity in technology, Coder Academy is proud to offer one Diversity Scholarship for each intake and campus of our Accelerated and Standard Bootcamps. The scholarship will cover 50% of the total course fees of $20,970. Scholarships will be judged on a creative submission, and finalists will be determined following an interview. The scholarship application deadline is 14 days prior to the course start date.
Coder Academy offers one person per campus, per intake the opportunity to receive a subsidy for our Web Development, Data Science and CCC Bootcamps.

Hear from past Scholarship winners!
"Women have been historically underrepresented in the workplace since before "the workplace” existed. Earlier this year, in 2021, the Australian Government WGEA group released their latest report highlighting the gender pay gap. They recorded the total remuneration gap at 20.1%, which means men who work the same amount of time as women earn more than $25,000 a year more than women. This scholarship would enable me to engage and contribute to an evolving industry and in return, help change those statistics."
Daisy Watt - Scholarship Winner
"I want to bring a fresh perspective when creating programs that benefit the community and increase inclusivity. I want to be able to set an example, and encourage others to consider a career in tech. Most of all I want to make a space for women of colour in the tech industry."
